Thank you, thank you very much for visiting!
Marc "E" Stucker has been performing Elvis Presley's music since childhood. "I never will forget hearing Elvis on the radio in the car and asking my Mom - Who is That?" From that moment, I was hooked.
For years, I resisted becoming an ETA (Elvis Tribute Artist) even though Elvis has been my single most outstanding influence musically. I have never been able to get enough Elvis music....EVER! I never tire of hearing or singing it. Another ETA friend of mine told me that it's a sickness that can only be cured with more Elvis. This has always rang true.
I'm sure every ETA feels their version or their show is the best. In a way, I feel that's true because for most of us it comes from the heart. Anything that comes from the heart is usually given the "best" we have to give.
I'm not sure how to explain what happens to me when I sing his music. I can tell you that I always feel something. I remember as a kid thinking if I sang the same note as he does maybe I'll sound like him. I never really set out to copy him - I just love the sound and want to feel like I'm singing with him. I always tell everyone, "There has only been one Elvis Presley and there always will only be one. It's almost like his gifts and his life were annointed by God. My reason for not wanting to "do" Elvis shows was because I have seen way too many that are just way too cheesy. I may not always be the best but I can assure you that when I make up my mind to do something, I give it everything I have. When I leave a stage or even when I'm just singing alone, I try to put everything I've got into every word, every note.....every time. I think that's the biggest thing studying Elvis taught me.
People have no idea how hard this man worked to stay on top. They don't know how much adversity he faced in his life because of who he was. I can tell you that my love and respect for him have been magnified many times over after actually attempting some of the things he did. He was the greatest entertainer of all time and he was a great human being. His humble approach throughout his life and never forgetting that he wasn't any better than anyone else did as much to carve his name in history as his music. This is why people continue to love the man and his music. New generations of fans are still flocking to his music. Much of today's music is many times directed with dollar signs and not true artistic ability. I'm not saying there are no talented people in the music industry. The industry is full of them. I'm saying very few step up to the plate like Elvis did.
I don't necessarily try to be Elvis when I do a tribute show but I do try to re-create it as best I can. Face it, nobody can be him. I just want to share my love of the music with others who feel the same way. I want to give them an experience that they won't be able to have because it is gone. I also feel especially honored when someone who wasn't a fan of Elvis' likes what I'm doin and is encouraged to listen to his music through what I do. If I can make people happy with HIS music and style, then I feel I've done something more than just perform a show. I've helped someone find some happiness that they've been missin if only for a little while. This is a feeling that cannot be equalled or measured.
